MindForgeKids.io ("we," "us," or "the Site") operates mindforgekids.io and the MindForge Academy storefront at mindforgekids.io/academy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide

• Account information: email address and password (hashed) when you create an account to buy a product or save progress.
• Order information: items purchased, transaction amount, and the email associated with your purchase. Payment card data is handled by Stripe; we never see or store full card numbers.
• Email-capture signups: if you submit your email for a free sample or our list, we store the email and the page you submitted from.
• Support and feedback: if you contact us via the in-site feedback form or by email, we keep that correspondence to help you.

1.2 Information collected automatically

• Usage data: pages visited, referrer, approximate location (country/region from IP), device type, browser, and the events you trigger on the site (e.g. "view product," "begin checkout," "purchase").
• Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 4.
• Game progress: high scores, achievements, and completion state for the free games. By default this is stored locally in your browser. If you sign in, certain progress may be synced to your account.

2. How We Use Information

• To process orders, deliver digital downloads, and provide customer support.
• To authenticate logins, secure your account, and prevent fraud.
• To send transactional emails (receipts, download links, account notifications).
• To send marketing emails only if you opted in via the email-capture form. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
• To measure how the site is used (page views, conversion rate, feature usage) so we can improve it.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. Legal Bases (EEA / UK Visitors)

If you are in the EEA or UK, we process your personal data under one of the following legal bases:

• Contract: to fulfill a purchase or provide account services you requested.
• Legitimate interests: to keep the site secure, measure usage, and improve our products.
• Consent: for marketing emails and non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
• Legal obligation: when we are required to retain records (e.g. tax, fraud).

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use the following categories:

• Strictly necessary: session and authentication cookies so you can log in and complete checkout. These cannot be turned off.
• Analytics: Google Analytics 4 ("GA4") to understand how visitors use the site. Data is aggregated and used to improve the product. You can opt out via your browser settings or by using a privacy-respecting extension.
• Advertising: Google Ads conversion tracking pixels so we can measure which ads result in a sale or sign-up. We do not use behavioral re-targeting cookies unless explicitly noted.
• Local storage: used to store game progress and preferences on your device.

You can control cookies through your browser. Disabling some cookies may affect site functionality (you will not be able to log in or check out without strictly-necessary cookies).

5. Sharing of Information

We share personal information only as needed to operate the service:

• Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe's privacy policy.
• Cloudflare — hosting, security, and content delivery.
• Google (GA4 and Google Ads) — analytics and ad-effectiveness measurement.
• Email service provider — to deliver transactional and (if you opted in) marketing emails.
• Legal obligations — if required by law, court order, or to protect our rights.

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

6. Children's Privacy

MindForgeKids.io's interactive games are intended for use by children under parental supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Account creation and purchases require an adult email address.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us without parental consent, contact us at hello@mindforgekids.io and we will delete it promptly.

7. Data Retention

• Account & purchase records: retained while your account is active and for up to seven years after for tax and accounting compliance.
• Email-capture leads: retained until you unsubscribe, then deleted within 30 days.
• Analytics: retained for the period set in our GA4 configuration (default 14 months).
• Support correspondence: retained up to two years.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Delete your information ("right to be forgotten").
• Export your information in a portable format.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Opt out of marketing emails at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@mindforgekids.io. We respond within 30 days. California residents may also have rights under the CCPA / CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of "sales" (we do not sell data).

9. International Transfers

The Site is operated from Canada and uses services hosted in multiple regions. By using the Site you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, with appropriate safeguards.

10. Security

We use HTTPS site-wide, hashed passwords, and access controls on internal systems. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will notify you and applicable regulators where required by law.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
